About Danske Fiskeauktioner A/S

Danske Fiskeauktioner A/S became a reality when, on 1 September 2007, Thyborøn Fiskeauktion A/S purchased the entire share capital of Hvide Sande Fiskeauktion A/S.

With the merger, both auctions were strengthened, and the synergy effects from a shared sales system, marketing, administration, and management could quickly be seen.

In January 2009, Danske Fiskeauktioner A/S also took over Thorsminde Fiskeauktion, and today Danske Fiskeauktioner stands as the most modern fish auction house in Europe, with electronic fish auctions, up-to-date facilities, and modern auction premises in the three west coast ports of Thyborøn, Hvide Sande, and Thorsminde.

The establishment of Danske Fiskeauktioner should be seen in light of the vision to secure and strengthen the auctions in Thyborøn, Hvide Sande, and Thorsminde, with the goal of maintaining landing and sales sites in these ports far into the future. Through internet-based sales and a strong logistics network, Danske Fiskeauktioner ensures competitive prices for fishermen, just as the combined landings from the three auctions ensure sufficient supplies for buyers.

At Danske Fiskeauktioner, we thus believe that internet-based fish auctions are, and will remain, the auction format of the future. In this way, we have access to a far larger group of buyers, both in Denmark and around Europe, which in our view has a positive and stabilizing effect on fish prices. We will therefore continue working in the future to attract new customers to the internet auction, both domestically and abroad.

Although Thyborøn, Hvide Sande, and Thorsminde are already known today for landing especially large quantities of very high-quality food fish, the dynamic trade via the internet also gives us a unique opportunity to reach buyers all over Europe who would not normally buy fish in Denmark.
